The Battle Drum

Bobby is driving tonight on a plane.
The stars are out. He knows them all by name.
They´re always there. They always look the same.
He tells himself, “It´s not the right time to feel ashamed,
No, it´s not the right time to feel ashamed.”

One day Bobby met a strange colleen.
She banged a beat on a tamborine.
She said, “Boy, forget about all you´ve seen,
For the sky won´t be blue and the hills won´t be green anymore.”

CHORUS
And it´s fee fi fo fum! She bangs the battle drum.
He hears the calling and he knows it won´t be over.
Fee fi fo fum! She bangs the battle drum.
He hears the calling and he knows it won´t be over.

Bobby is serving for his land.
They got the plan. He´s got the command.
He says, “Some folks will never understand
That saviours of freedom are always heaven sent.”

CHORUS

Bobby has an uncle in Jerusalem
Who tells him all the time that he´s so proud of him.
Bobby often thinks about that strange colleen
And the beat she was banging seemed to be just for him.

CHORUS

CHORUS

It won´t be over.
